Mark Rimmer

I am 42 years old and have two children, Niamh aged 11 and Patrick aged 8.

I was introduced to golf as a six year old and became a member of Royal Cromer in Norfolk aged nine where I continued to play until joining the RAF at 18.  I served in the UK and abroad as an Avionics Technician, including serving in Bahrain during the first Gulf war.  I became a member of the Strike Command Golf Team and then the RAF team and finally represented combined services.

On leaving the RAF aged 30 I completed a number of golf club making courses and started up my own business, but soon realised I wanted to turn professional.  I was given his first job by James Dodds as the Assistant Pro at Hunstanton Golf Club in Norfolk, a top 40 in the UK championship links course.  I stayed in Hunstanton for six years until joining Doug McLelland at Silvermere in Surrey in June 2006, where I specialised in club fitting and one to one coaching

With the help of a free golf consultation and slow motion swing analysis, I can find the right path for you to improve your golf. This means I will be able to tailor-make a programme that suits you and your goals and discover what you really want from your golf.

Any golfer on any one of my improvement programmes will be able to take advantage of a list of other services, including a FREE monthly swing check, entry to any seminars or clinics for half price, a free monthly improvement newsletter, access to training aids, golf DVDs and books when available.

Sean Herron

Hello all golfers!

I would like to introduce myself as Chichester Golf Club’s newest golf coach. My name is Sean Herron, I am 38 years old and I’m from County Derry in Northern Ireland. As well as working alongside Mark my aim is to introduce and promote a wide variety of new and exciting services that will cater for golfers of all ages and ability, teaching the basic fundamentals of the golf swing in a fun and simple way.

Previously, I coached in a variety of places as far afield as Switzerland and Australia. Since returning to the UK I have worked in golf clubs in Bedfordshire and Oxfordshire. Only last year I became one of only 25 golf coaches in England who can officially call themselves a Golfing Machine Authorised Instructor. This is recognised throughout the world as the most thorough and accurate teaching system, based on Homer Kelley’s “The Golfing Machine”. Applying basic geometry and simple physics to the golf swing it cuts through the clutter of misinformation about the golf stroke.

Since arriving at Chichester Golf Club and talking to some of the members I have been shocked to find that so many of them are afraid to go for lessons because they don’t want to make big swing changes which may affect their scoring. I can improve your golf without changing your swing at all, so come along and see what we can achieve together. I start with a free golf consultation and swing analysis to anyone who comes to see me which will help me tailor-make a programme that suits you and your goals, not mine. I will use the consultation to discover what you really want from your golf.

You will notice my philosophy is based purely on one essential requirement - putting you, the client, first! All your wants and needs will be addressed before we even utter the word “golf lesson”. The extra care and attention you will get from me doesn’t stop there. Any golfer on any of my improvement programmes will be able to take advantage of a list of other services. This includes a FREE monthly swing check, entry to any seminars or clinics for half price, a free monthly improvement newsletter, access to training aids, golf DVD’s and books when available, a buddy coach system, and last but not least, a lesson reminder phone call and a post check-up lesson phone call.

You will find me on the range most of the time, otherwise up at the club house talking to members and finding out what services the golfers at Chichester Golf Club want from the coaches. So feel free to introduce yourself if I haven’t done so already. I look forward to meeting and talking with you about your game, as well as listening to any suggestions you may have to help us work closer together and, ultimately, get you enjoying golf more. Sean Herron.

So if you would like to improve your game then contact Mark or Sean at the Chichester Golf Academy or call 01243 528999 for a free consultation.
