Key Information for members

How do I book a tee time?
Members are able to book tee times up to 14 days in advance (15 days for 7 Day Plus Members) for all golfing activities (excluding range) and all tee times must be booked in advance via our online booking portal www.e-s-p.com/elitelive/login.php .

Members have exclusive use of the Cathedral course before 9:00am Monday-Friday and before 10:00am at the weekend (subject to category).

To make a booking, please ensure you have provided us with your email address at the time of joining so that we can send you an email from our online booking site to register as a member. The email will be sent from no-reply@elitelive.co.uk with the Subject: Chichester Golf Internet Membership Registration and follow the instructions.

The easiest way to book a tee time and to manage your account is to download the EliteLive app from the App Store or Google Play Store. By using the app you can book & cancel tee times, view & top up your levy balance & flexi credits and receive notifications direct from the club and other members.

Please note, that you cannot book online to play at our sister courses at Hill Barn Golf Club and Horton Park Golf Club. Please call the club to book a tee time.

How do I cancel a tee time?
If you are unable to play you must cancel your booking by selecting the option ‘view booking history’. If you need to amend or change your booking please call the Pro Shop.

Full payment will be taken for buggys and guests booked online and no refunds will be issued.  If you need to move your booking please contact the club directly, a minimum of 24 hours before your tee time to move the booking to any date within the next four weeks and the relevant payment will be transferred to the new booking.

For Flexi members’ credits are deducted at the time of booking a tee time, so please ensure you cancel in advance if you are unable to play.

 Can I bring a guest?
Members can invite non-members to play and pay a reduced member guest rate. Not applicable to Junior Members.

Flexi members can also choose to use their credits to pay for guests if they wish. Just add your own details to the booking for the number of guests you wish to use credits for or just book for yourself and add guests in the shop before your play.

How long does it take to play 18-holes?
Pace of play is very important to us here at Chichester Golf Club, we ask all members to be aware of their timings, keep up with the game in front and let faster groups through. We recommend the following timings for a four ball on each course:

Cathedral Course
Front nine                           No more than 2 hours 20 minutes

Back nine                             No more than 2 hours

Tower Course
Holes 1-11                           No more than 2 hours 15 minutes

Holes 12-18                        No more than 1 hour   45 minutes

Beginners – Blue Tees
The Blue tees on the course can be used by any golfers that wish to do so as an alternative to the yellow or red tees.

They are ideal for beginner or junior golfers as they reduce the length of the hole or by taking out some of the hazards.

How can I play in a Club Competition or Roll Up?
We have an extensive competitions calendar throughout the year. You can access all upcoming member competitions and sign up via www.howdidido.co.uk. There is also a members touch screen hub located in the Clubhouse.

To play in competitions, members must have an active handicap. This can be obtained by playing with a current member with a handicap or by playing in the roll ups as detailed below.

Please email george@chichestergolf.com and ask to be added to the roll up for the first time.

Men’s Section – Men’s Captain: Steve Cockerell
The Men’s Roll Up takes place every Wednesday or Saturday on the Cathedral course.  The Wednesday Roll Up takes place at 10:30am. The Saturday Roll Up generally takes place at 8:00am.

For more information and to keep up to date with competitions and events please sign up to the Chichester Golf Club Men’s Section Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/586335698191381/

Ladies Section – Lady Captain: Ros May-Hearn
The Ladies competitions take place on a Tuesday morning at 8.30am and the weekly Roll Up is held every Saturday at 9.15am.

For more information please visit https://sites.google.com/view/hunstonbelles

Vets Section – Vets Captain: Peter Hamnett
If you are aged 60 years and over you might like to consider joining the Vets Section. They meet outside the Clubhouse every Monday at 8am for the roll up on the Cathedral Course and on a Wednesday morning at 7.30am for the weekly competition.

To join you will need to complete an application form available from the Pro Shop and submit this with a one-off joining fee of £10 and place it in the Vets post box located in the Pro Shop.

For full terms and conditions and more information please visit www.chivets.net.

 Junior Section
Junior Sessions are available to book directly with James Brown our Assistant PGA Professional. For more information and to book please email james_browne@icloud.com

We can also help you achieve a Junior members handicap, as you don’t have to be able to get a specific score to gain a handicap as we operate a Club handicap system which goes up to 54. All you need to do to get this is complete three scorecards; it is really easy!

 What practice facilities are there?
To compliment the two 18 hole courses we have a 9 hole Par 3 short course, perfect if you are short of time or looking to sharpen your short game. All Members have unlimited access to play this course days as per category.

There is also a short game practice green set at 60 yards. The green style target performs like a real green with the same bounce, spin and roll. There is also a practice putting green located by the Par 3 course and another located by the Clubhouse.

 Driving Range
The Driving Range has recently undergone a major refurbishment with significant investment and now features TrackMan! TrackMan technology allows players to work on areas they need to, showcasing crucial data from the ball’s measurements – making it a powerful practice tool. Whether you’re playing alone or with friends, the new TrackMan technology can improve your skills and have fun!

The driving range itself is floodlit and has an extensive collection of colourful 10 metre wide targets. There is also a practice bunker and the outside bays include a Huxley Golf mat which gives the feel of natural grass. We use only best quality Srixon one piece range balls which are dispensed from a range ball machine.

The range is bookable in time and you can hit an unlimited number of balls for the duration of your booking. We hope this will give golfers the opportunity to hit as many bad shots as you like so you can stroll up to the first tee with confidence. You will need to go online at www.yourgolfbooking.com, create an account and book a 30, 60 or 90 minute, guaranteed time slot, and hit as many balls as you can before your time runs out.

We know that members really want a way to warm up before a game, so you will also be able book a 30 minute time slot with a warmup bucket of 25 balls.

Price List:
30 minutes/1 Player £4.50 (25 balls only)
30 minutes/1 player-£8.30 online (Unlimited balls) or £9.60 in store

 Member changing rooms & lockers
To access the Member changing rooms please ask a member of staff for the unique code you will need to enter in to the security key pad.

We have lockers available in both the ladies and gentlemen’s locker rooms which are available to use free of charge. We also have a limited number of lockers available for hire for the year to store your golf bag and clubs. Please ask a member of staff for more information.

Pro Shop services & equipment
Over both golf courses we have buggies, electric trolleys, pull trolleys and rental clubs available to hire from the Pro Shop. Buggies are always in high demand and we recommend that all buggies are booked in advance when you book a tee time, either online or via the app. All members will receive an exclusive discount to hire a buggy and you must be 17 years and over.

If you are a Flexi Plus member then you can choose to pay for your buggy using credits which will be taken at the time of booking. If you do not wish to use your credits then please contact us directly to book a buggy separately.

A refreshments buggy is available on both courses at the weekend and on week days in the summer.

We can also offer you advice on your golf equipment (re-gripping, club adjustments, custom fitting, replacing spikes etc). Should you require any of these services please enquire in the pro shop.

Members can obtain a 10% discount on food and drink purchases and on retail items (exclusions apply) from the shop. To take advantage of the discount you need to add a ‘levy’ to your account.  The minimum amount you can add is £20.00.  You can pay and top up your levy account at any time via your EliteLive account. Please note that any levy added to your account is non-refundable and can only be used when your membership is valid and your account is up to date.

Please note that we do not accept any payments in cash or by cheque. All payments must be made by debit or credit card and there is no additional charge to do this.

How do I renew my membership?
We will send you details about your membership renewal via your EliteLive online account one month in advance of your renewal date. You will receive an email to let you know when your renewal letter is available to view online, with a full breakdown of the fees for the coming year. Please log in to your account and you will see your renewal information on your home page. To make it even easier, you can also pay for your renewal online as well.

If you pay by direct debit you can view your renewal letter by selecting ‘Documents’ from the menu options on the home page.

Can I cancel or change my membership?
As a reminder the following terms and conditions apply to all membership categories including Flexi Plus:

Option One: Annual Membership
If you have chosen to pay in one lump sum at the start of your membership year you will now be committing to the full year and you will be unable to downgrade or cancel your membership part way through the year and no refunds will be given under any circumstances including injury, illness or death. This also applies to any unused Flexi Plus credits or Flexi Plus annual fee.

Option Two: Monthly Membership (subject to category)
If you have chosen to pay monthly by direct debit you will have the right to switch to another membership category or cancel your membership at any time. As a reminder, direct debits are collected on the 4th day of each month or next working day. Please note that if you cancel your membership but decide to join again at a later date, you will need to pay another joining fee.

If you wish to cancel your membership for any reason then please contact us straight away so that we can stop any further payments from being taken by direct debit unnecessarily.

What happens to my membership if I cannot play?
If you are unable to play golf due to injury or ill health then please let us know straight away. As a goodwill gesture we may be able to offer to put your membership on hold for the time that you are unable to play or up to the end of the membership term, however we must request that you come and talk to us so that we can discuss your individual situation. We will also require evidence in writing such as a Doctor’s letter or a hospital appointment letter as confirmation. Please note that no refunds can be given for the time you have not been able to play.

Affiliation Fees & County Cards
All annual & monthly membership fees include affiliation fees paid to England Golf and the Sussex County Golf Union (men) or Sussex Ladies County Golf Association (ladies).

The Sussex County Card Scheme provides discounts on green fees for numerous clubs nationally and has been in operation for many years. Formerly, this was a subscription-based membership model where members would apply directly to the County and pay annually.

This scheme extends beyond Sussex, covering all surrounding counties as well!  This model has now been modernized and made fully inclusive for all members, irrespective of gender or age, with the introduction of the new County Card App.

The County Card membership will now be included in your affiliation fee and there is no additional cost for a card.

How do I download my County Card?
1: Search for and download ‘igCounty’ within the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
2. Open the App and select Sussex County Golf or Sussex Ladies Golf Association and press ‘Save’ from the list of Counties.
3. Click the County Card icon in the bottom right of the screen and then click ‘continue.’
4. Enter your WHS number, surname, and email address where indicated. The app uses this data to verify your club membership on the WHS Handicapping platform, but does not keep the data without your approval.
5. Enable notifications to receive email notifications about County events and news from your home County.
6. Click ‘Activate County Card’ and your card will be installed in the App.
